“Everyone tells you that spending time with gorillas in the wild is a truly emotional experience, but I didn't really believe them until I got to do it myself. There is an unsettling recognition and familiarity in these amazing animals' eyes that you won't find anywhere else in the wild. In Rwanda you're allowed one hour with the family you're visiting, absolutely no more than that. The time passes in the blink of an eye and leaving is tricky. There was something deeply relaxing about being around the gorillas. I hope to return one day.”
