“This photo is a reminder of how vulnerable nature can be, especially when facing human impact. It was taken at the Yanacocha Rescue Center in Puyo, in the Amazon basin, where many animals arrive from illegal trade or captivity. This parrot, cleverly blending into the green leaves of a small tree, had been kept in cages for so long that it lost its ability to fly.”
