Double Jungle Barrel

by Ryan Williams | @wetnegz
Sumatra, Indonesia

I was shooting video this trip but had snuck an old Canon F-1 with a 300mm FD and a 50mm FD on the trip with me. I find it easy to get burned out shooting video, so a quick break to fire off a few stills on film keeps the creative juices flowing.

This is a double exposure with a tight shot of the palms in the background with the 300mm lens, then I put the 50mm on and took a photo of Kian Martin in the tube before advancing the film to the next frame.

Human Current

by Ollie Grace | @ollie_grace_
Balearic Islands, Spain

I decided to capture this moment on film after noticing the glare of the afternoon sun on the sea, knowing my almost 60-year-old camera would create a starburst effect that my digital camera couldn't replicate. Having spent time on the cliff watching people jump in and climb out, I began to notice their movements forming a loose spiral along the shoreline, echoing patterns often found in nature. With limited frames, shooting on film made me more attentive to timing and composition, allowing the pattern to fully reveal itself. The image captures a subtle connection between people and tide, as if they were moving with the sea rather than against it.

Mayor of Mt. Hood

by Charlie Newman | @Charlienewmannn_
Mount Hood, Oregon

Meet Toph. I can’t name anyone else with such a burning passion for skiing. It wouldn’t be crazy to say he skis 300+ days per year. Residing at the bottom of Mount Hood, Oregon, he can frequently be found skiing at the Timberline Lodge ski area, so much so he has gotten himself a nickname: the Mayor of Mount Hood.
